Representatives of the Class of 2004 gathered at the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmö, Sweden, to commemorate 21 years since their graduation.

On 1 November 2025, the Class of 2004 representatives attended the WMU Graduation Ceremony, celebrating the maritime and ocean leaders of tomorrow. During the event, they had the opportunity to meet Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, Chancellor of WMU and Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

In addition to attending the ceremony, the Class of 2004 held a roundtable discussion at the WMU premises on Monday, 3 November 2025, organized by their 2004 classmate, WMU Assistant Professor Aspasia Pastra.  The session was hosted by Professor Maximo Q. Mejia, Jr., President of WMU, who warmly welcomed the alumni.

The graduates reflected on their experiences at WMU and the University’s lasting impact on their personal and professional journeys. The alumni also engaged in maritime discussions with Vice-President (Strategic Initiatives) Professor Jens-Uwe Schröder-Hinrichs, Professor Michael Ekow Manuel, Professor Ronán Long, Professor Dimitrios Dalaklis, Associate Professor Tafsir Johansson and retired Assistant Professor Jan Horck.
